Some guides say ID only, others mention local residency checks in certain cities — does Amsterdam still welcome tourists at shops? Any recent experiences at the Amsterdam clubs (not naming them here) about needing proof of address or extra questions? A friend got asked about hotel name once (just casual), nothing official. If you go to smaller towns like [Leeuwarden](/netherlands/friesland/leeuwarden "13 Coffeeshops in Leeuwarden Municipality (2026) | Cannabivo") or some border places they might be stricter.
