# My first time at a Barcelona asociación — quick notes

So — I finally went to a asociación in [Barcelona](/spain/catalonia/barcelona "443 Cannabis Social Clubs in Barcelona (2026) | Cannabivo") (not posting the address here). Had to bring DNI + empadronamiento, an existing member introduced me, then there was a short junta a few days later and I was voted in. Place was small, friendly people, orientation maybe 20 minutes. They gave me a small monthly allocation to take **home** (no consumption on site). Tried a hybrid they called “Mediterranean” — softer than expected, citrusy but a bit earthy. Sharing because I remember being nervous before joining; if you’re considering a Barcelona asociación, expect the paperwork and a short vote.

Qué bien que ya lo tengas todo listo. En mi [caso](/spain/asturias/caso "Cannabis Social Clubs near Caso, Asturias (2026) | Cannabivo") la junta tardó dos semanas (me avisaron por correo), y la tanda que me dieron era parecida, menos potente que lo que esperaba también. Lo del empadronamiento lo miran muy en serio.

Totalmente relatable. Ese nombre lo usan mucho para batches más suaves. Ojo con las etiquetas, a veces vienen con terpenos diferentes según la cosecha. ¿Te dijeron cuánto te asignan al mes?

Nice write-up, Jennifer. I joined a local asociación a few months back and the vibe was similar — small, quiet, administration-heavy. Two things I noticed: 1) every batch seems to change a bit month-to-month, so don't be surprised if next month your 'Mediterranean' smells different, and 2) bring a little cash for the membership fee on the day, they often prefer it. Also yeah, they're strict about taking your allocation **home** — it's not a place to hang out and consume.

I had a similar first time — voted in after the junta, quick orientation. One thing I wish someone told me: keep notes about the strain batches you get (date + small tasting notes). After a few months you'll spot patterns and can ask the committee when a preferred strain might come back. Also, sometimes they let members swap small amounts among themselves if both agree, but that's informal and you have to respect the rules.
