Nice to read this. I went to a BCN asociación last year (different barrio) and the orientation was exactly like you say — small, everyone a bit shy. Pro tip: keep your empadronamiento handy, sometimes they ask for the exact date on it.

That two-week thing is common, but my friend's junta took longer (3 weeks) because they only meet once. Good that you had someone to introduce you.

I’m curious — did they explain how the allocations work (amount per month)? In some asociaciones it’s very strict, in others more flexible, depends on statutes. Also, if you plan to bring friends later, remember most clubs require the introducing member to vouch for them.
