El DNI o pasaporte y el empadronamiento sí son imprescindibles, pero sin presentación a veces ni te dejan entrar a la junta. En pueblos pequeños la junta puede ser más rápida, a veces 3-10 días, otras semanas.

Yo añadiría: lleva el empadronamiento original y una factura o contrato a tu nombre si tienes (a veces piden más prueba de residencia). Y pregunta en privado a algún socio conocido si pueden presentarte, eso acelera todo. En pueblos como Roses suelen ser más flexibles pero igual de discretos.

I visited a friend's association near the coast last year — sometimes they do a short orientation the same day, other times they schedule a day for new members. Don't expect them to publish the address; they keep it private. If you don't have a local introducer, try asking people in the local community groups (discreetly).

Agree with José and Beatriz — and a small tip: take printed copies of everything and a couple of passport photos (some associations still ask). Also, be ready for the junta to ask why you want to join (normal question). Good luck, and remember they value discretion.
