Quick heads-up — Rotterdam club ID checks stricter now

So I popped into the club in Rotterdam after work (near the station) and noticed they asked for both ID and proof of address. Not just a quick glance — they scanned the ID and asked where I'm registered. I asked the steward and they said the municipality sent a letter last month, 'tightening the residency checks' (not their words exactly). If you're a non-resident planning to drop by, maybe bring a proof of local address or expect a longer chat. Didn't get barred or anything, just a heads-up — felt more formal than the last time I was there.

Ja, saw the same last week. They scanned my passport (EU) and asked for a utilities bill — I thought that was over the top for a coffeeshop-club hybrid. One-sentence: bring paperwork if you care about time.

Yeah same here, Rotterdam municipality has been stricter for months. If you live in another Dutch city they might let you in but expect extra questions. I prefer bringing my studentenpas + a recent bank statement, saves time.

In Germany they'd do similar checks for Vereinsmitgliedschaft paperwork. Not surprising that cities in NL are following suit. Good reminder to always have a current proof of address on your phone or printed copy.

Interesante — aquí en España las asociaciones piden empadronamiento sí o sí, pero no suelen «escanear» pasaportes. Rotterdam parece ir por el camino de comprobaciones más formales, buena info, gracias por avisar.

Short: yup, bring proof. Long: if you travel often between cities, screenshot a recent municipal mail or a bank statement. They don't want drama but municipal letters changed policies in a few places last quarter.

Je ne m'attendais pas à ça à Rotterdam — merci pour l'info. Ça confirme que les villes serrent la vis partout en Europe. Petite astuce: demandez au club avant de venir, souvent ils répondent vite par message.
