The place itself is unflashy and worksmanlike; it fits the area’s straightforward, no-nonsense rhythm. Folks who use it tend to be locals or people from nearby towns, not the cruise crowds you see in the market square. There are a couple of simple cafés and a baker close by for a quick stop, and the cobbles make you slow down on foot. In summer the harbour promenade livens up with cyclists and anglers, but the side streets remain calm. I’ve walked past it on the way to the quay; it feels like part of the old maritime fabric rather than a new arrival.
