Abraxas Coffeeshop is tucked into one of the narrow lanes of central Amsterdam and feels like a proper local stop rather than a flashy tourist hangout. The lane itself is narrow and busy with passersby, so it’s a decent place for people-watching while you sit inside. Inside, the mood stays low-key—nothing flashy—and conversations drift from quick catch-ups to quiet reading. Being in the old part of town means the neighbourhood has that constant hum of tourists and regulars rubbing shoulders. Staff seem used to the mix, so you can pop in alone or with mates and not feel out of place. I go here when I want to escape the louder spots nearby without having to walk far; it just fits into the day like a familiar corner.
