The Bulldog Coffeeshop The Port Cannabis Social Club in Amsterdam

If you want a coffee shop that's off the usual tourist loop, The Bulldog Port sits where the city still smells faintly of the docks. The stretch around it has that working-harbour feel — cranes, converted warehouses, and a steady stream of cyclists. Locals stop in between shifts or on their way to the nearby waterfront. The Bulldog name goes way back to 1975, so you get a bit of that old Amsterdam coffee shop legacy without the stage-show vibe. Inside feels unpretentious; people come for a quick visit or to linger with a paper. Evenings quiet down and the area becomes the kind of place where you can hear the water lapping. It's an easy pick if you want something more down-to-earth than the center. If you know this part of town, you’ll appreciate how different the pace is here.
