Coffeeshop Groenewoud Leiden Cannabis Social Club in Leiden

Coffee shop Groenewoud Leiden sits by the old quay, so you often watch boats and bikes go by while you're inside. The neighbourhood around it feels properly Leiden: narrow streets, canals, and a mix of cafés and student hangouts. It's the kind of coffee shop where locals, students and visitors rub shoulders without much fuss. Inside it's practical rather than fancy — simple seating, easy conversation, and the low murmur that comes with regulars. Staff move quickly and know the familiar faces, so it rarely feels like a tourist spot even when the square gets busy. Because it's by the water, you can step out and wander the canals or pop into nearby bars afterward. If you're after something flashy, look elsewhere; this place is more about easy company and a straightforward selection. A solid stop to break up a day of exploring Leiden.
