Coffeeshop City Hall Cannabis Social Club in Amsterdam

If you wander down the canal-lined alleys of De Wallen you'll run into a steady flow of people and an old-school coffee shop energy. Coffeeshop City Hall has a no-nonsense, slightly lived-in feel — the kind of place where you can sit for a while without being hurried. The street outside is never quiet: tourist groups, late-night bar crowds and the occasional busker pass by, so it's more people-watching than quiet reading. Inside it's pragmatic rather than flashy; simple seating and a familiar hum set the tone. You won't find a pretentious menu here; the vibe is direct and casual, which suits the slightly rough-around-the-edges block. I've popped in on weekday afternoons when it feels calmer and on weekend nights when the crowd is louder and more transient. If you want a quick, uncomplicated stop to watch people go by or to duck out of the rain, this is an easy choice. Don't expect a quiet canal hideaway — it's very much part of the noisy, colourful maze that makes De Wallen what it is.
