Coffeeshop Blue & White Cannabis Social Club in The Hague, Den Haag

Blue & White is the place I duck into after a long walk on the Scheveningen boulevard when I want something low-key. This coffee shop sits on a quieter street off the main drag, so you get a bit of seaside air and fewer pushy vendors. The crowd is a mix — regulars who've been coming for years, surf types, and tourists who wander in after the pier. Inside is straightforward and a little worn around the edges, more functional than flashy, with the sort of furniture that's been moved a thousand times. On weekends the chatter turns into a soft hum; weekdays feel like a pause between waves of visitors. The staff work quickly and with a no-nonsense sort of friendliness that suits the area. You'll hear a mix of languages and the occasional cycle-bell from outside, which somehow makes the place feel lived-in. It's an easy stop after a beach day if you want something familiar and simple rather than fancy. Evenings bring a calmer mood, when lights from the boulevard spill in and people plan their next stroll along the coast.
