Coffeeshop The old church Cannabis Social Club in Amsterdam

The name is a bit cheeky — Coffeeshop The old church feels more like a worn-in living room than anything sacred. It's right along the Amstel, so you get the slow river traffic and the soft light that hits the narrow façades in the afternoon. Locals and wandering visitors mix here; you'll see people with bikes, people with guidebooks, and students lingering over laptops. The place keeps a low-key, no-frills vibe — not flashy, just easy to hang out in. Mornings are steady with regulars grabbing a quick stop, while evenings quiet down into easy conversation. The street outside has that classic Amsterdam feel: old brick, the distant hum of trams, and small cafés rubbing shoulders. Staff are casual and efficient, which suits the place — drop in solo with a book or meet a friend and take your time.
