De Wietstok Cannabis Social Club in Utrecht

In Wittevrouwen, a short cycle from the centre, the coffee shop just feels like part of the neighbourhood rhythm. Daytime trade is easygoing: students with backpacks, locals on their way to work, and the occasional tourist who wandered off the main canals. Evenings lean quieter and familiar; people come to sit and chat rather than make a scene. The street outside is lined with old brick houses, a few indie shops and small cafés, so the whole block stays mellow. It’s the kind of place you duck into after a canal walk or a browse through the nearby boutiques. Faces repeat — regulars settle into the same spots and conversations pick up where they left off. Noise never gets out of hand; in summer chats spill onto the pavement and it all feels pretty relaxed. Handy for a low-key afternoon stop or a chilled evening with friends.
